Yet another woman has stopped enjoying The View.
The July 8 episode of ABC’s morning chatfest took an emotional turn when Rosie Perez — flanked by her co-hosts, moderator Whoopi Goldberg, political analyst Nicolle Wallace and recent addition Raven-Symoné — announced that she would be departing at the end of the season to focus on her film career. “I am excited for what is to come,” she said, her voice trembling and her eyes filling with tears. “But I am so sad to leave.”

It’s a bittersweet farewell, to be sure. Almost a year ago, Rosie — the first Latina ever to score a permanent seat at the table — was hired as a proposed antidote to the flagging ratings and revolving door of cast members that have plagued the ABC series in the wake of creator Barbara Walters' retirement in May 2014.

Early in her tenure, Rosie, 50, became a hot topic when she took a monthlong hiatus to rehearse for her Broadway show, Fish in the Dark, fueling rumors that she was already being fired. But Rosie “left on her own terms,” says an insider. In fact, “she couldn’t have gotten out of there quickly enough. Rosie’s done so many movies where she’s like a ray of sunshine on the set, but nothing she did could lift the black cloud over The View.”

Rosie isn’t the only co-host to part ways with the beleaguered show. Rosie O’Donnell, 53, said goodbye in February — adding to a body count that includes Sherri Shepherd, 48, and former Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy, 42, since Barbara’s exit alone.
And with Rosie signing off on Aug. 6, it was just announced that conservative Nicolle, 43, is going to be the next to go amid more behind-the-scenes drama. “Raven and Nicolle are engaged in a hellacious feud,” reveals a source. “They’ve clashed from the start, and they flat-out don’t get each other. If push comes to shove, it’s Nicolle who’s going to get pushed.”
