LOL!Ava Phillippe Gets Mistaken for Mom Reese Witherspoon at 2017 Emmys

We’re not going to lie, we always confuse them, too! Reese Witherspoon and her daughter, Ava Phillippe, are literal twins, so it makes sense that the 18-year-old was mistaken for her famous mom at the 2017 Emmys on Sunday, Sept. 17.

After Reese won the Emmy for Outstanding Limited Series for Big Little Lies, the 41-year-old attended an HBO after party where a photographer thought Reese was Ava on the red carpet! According to Us Weekly, she told reporters, “I’m not her.”

And even though Ava is used to people thinking she’s Reese, she couldn’t be prouder of all her mom’s accomplishments. After the award show, she took to Instagram to give her a sweet shout-out. “I am so proud of how hard my mama has worked to showcase the stories and talents of strong women like herself, and I am so happy she’s been officially recognized for it. Congrats to the whole BLL team! ??❤️,” she wrote alongside a photo of the two looking so much alike. Too cute!

Reese has previously opened up about her strong bond with her little girl — and revealed she’s seen her get called Reese firsthand! “People come up to her [all the time]. We were at a premiere and they were congratulating her on her performance,” she once shared. “She’s like, ‘I’m not in the movie!'”

The Legally Blonde star added, “I do see the resemblance. She’s a beautiful person inside and out. She’s just a good soul. I’m not sure what she thinks. I’m just ‘Mom’ to her. I really have a rich, personal relationship with my daughter. I have a really great career, and it’s nice to be able to share it with my kids.”
