"Love is life is love is life," iconic fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg writes in her new memoir, 'The Woman I Wanted to Be.'
In the book, the creator of the wrap dress, 67, recounts her many great loves including first husband Prince Egon von Furstenberg, supermodel Gia Carangi and current husband, Barry Diller.

But the designer's most surprising love-life admission is that she once had a brief fling with actor Richard Gere while she was dating her now-husband, Barry.
Richard was "hard to resist," Diane wrote of her time with the actor after he finished filming 1980's 'American Gigilo.'
"Barry never said anything but I know he was not happy. Barry was always cool, above anything and anyone. He knew it would pass," she wrote of the affair.
Their whirlwind romance came to an end shortly after it began, Diane explains, because 'American Gigilo' was being distributed by Paramount Pictures, of which Barry was chairman.

Richard's agent told him that seeing her was "not a good move," the designer revealed.
Now in her 60s, "I know I have less time ahead and want to enjoy, enjoy as much as possible," Diane wrote of her life in the spotlight. "That one little dress has taught me everything I know about fashion, women, life, and confidence."
