Prince George had a great first day of pre-school!

The adorable snapshots of the little one jetting off to the classroom brings back memories of his father, Prince William‘s, first day back in 1985 — and the two highly resemble one another! Though, it seems the two-year-old had a better first day than his frowning dad did.

Young Prince William was surrounded by a plethora of reporters and photographers when he first left for school. George, however, had a much less invasive entrance to his Norwalk school, for the only camera flashing in his face was his mom’s, Kate Middleton!

His day “went well,’ a palace source revealed to People.

The two-year-old’s school — which is located about 10 miles away from Kate and William’s Amner Hall home on the royal family’s Sandringham Estate — is housed in a converted chapel on a private road and typically enrolls 29 students at a time.

We’re glad to see Prince George so excited to hit the books!
