UPDATE: The City of Miami Police Department confirmed Dr. Brandt's death was a suicide by hanging on Monday, April 6.
Celebrity dermatologist Dr. Fredric Brandt sadly died in his home on Sunday, April 5, his publicist confirmed. He was 65-years-old.
"He passed away from a sudden death at his home in Coral Gables, [Fla.]," publicist Susan Biegacz told 'People' in a statement.

While Brandt's cause of death is still unknown, a spokesperson for the star stated he passed away after "suffering from an illness."

The dermatologist's celebrity clients included Kelly Ripa and Madonna, among others. "If I have nice skin, I owe a lot to him," Madonna previously told 'The New York Times' of working with the doctor.

Last month, a 'Miami Herald' blogger revealed Brandt had been suffering from depression and was "devastated" when he was compared to Martin Short's celebrity plastic surgeon character on the new Netflix series 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.'
