So SadDebbie Reynolds’ “Greatest Fear” Was Outliving Her Beloved Daughter Carrie Fisher

Rest in peace, Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher.

In the days following the Singin’ in the Rain star’s death at age 84, it has been revealed that Debbie’s “greatest fear” was outliving her beloved daughter.

Carrie sadly passed away at age 60 on Tuesday, Dec. 27 after suffering a heart attack four days prior. Her mother, Debbie, tragically died just one day later from a stroke on Wednesday, Dec. 28.

“It’s not natural to outlive your child. This has always been my greatest fear… I don’t know if I could survive that,” Debbie wrote in her 2013 autobiography, Unsinkable.

She was taken by EMTs to a nearby emergency room after someone from Todd’s house called 911 to report a possible stroke. She allegedly died in the hospital hours later.

According to Todd, Debbie’s last words before her death were about her beloved daughter. “I miss her so much. I want to be with Carrie,” Debbie said.
