Like father, like daughter!

Deana Martin has found a way to keep her late father Dean Martin‘s memory alive. “I think he would’ve been out there smiling and having a fantastic time, but he’d say, ‘I’m ready to have a nice party, but I don’t want a lot of chit-chat,’” Deana exclusively told Closer Weekly of the celebration. “He liked to be quiet.”

And the celebration won’t stop there — Deana is headed to Las Vegas to continue the festivities in remembrance of her father. The famous singer will perform in Deana Sings Dino: Celebrating Dean Martin’s 100th on Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24 at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Vegas. When remembering her father’s love of music she said, “My dad’s music was the soundtrack of our lives.”

But, it’s not only Dean’s birthday that conjures up happy memories of her dad. She previously told Closer how holidays like Christmas are full of happy memories as well.

“Christmas was always a very special time for us,” Deana explained. “We’d go down to the train tracks in LA and pick the biggest Christmas tree we could find and bring it home. Then my dad would get a huge ladder and string up all the lights, and we’d decorate the tree.”

Deana said her dad’s spirit is never far from her because his voice is captured in some of her favorite songs, “Let It Snow” and “Silver Bells.” “I can walk into a restaurant or a mall, and I’ll hear him singing Christmas songs. So he’s there with us, he’s part of us, and it’s like he never left.”
