Shark Tank star Daymond John is getting candid about a recent health issue of his.
In a new interview with People, the 48-year-old investor opened up about his private cancer battle — and revealed doctors found a 1-inch nodule on his thyroid that ended up being Stage 2 cancer during a recent physical examination.
"I had no symptoms at all," the new dad revealed. "You would think you’d be able to feel a 1-inch nodule in your throat, but I didn’t feel anything." He got it removed last month. "I went in and had a surgery and was able to not skip a beat," he confessed.
Fortunately, Daymond is cancer-free today, he revealed in a Facebook live video on Friday, May 12. "Let me tell you something. They caught everything, and I am fine," he said. "I am absolutely fine. I have to monitor my health like anything, like everybody, to see if any [cancer] comes back on the other side [of my thyroid]."

"I’m so grateful that I went and got this thing looked into. I know there are a lot of debates about if [expensive] executive physicals are worth it or not, but in my case, it was worth more than gold — or anything else — because it saved me from a lot of potential problems down the road," Daymond said in his original announcement.
"So I’m sharing this information with all the people I know — if they have [financial] resources or they don’t. And if they don’t, I’m discussing the options of what else they can do: look into family history and illnesses and do what you can to catch things early. People don’t have any idea they should be doing this," he concluded.
