David Bowie's wife, Iman, remained optimistic and hopeful during the hours leading up to her husband's death.
Shortly before it was revealed the iconic singer lost his battle with cancer yesterday, the 60-year-old supermodel tweeted a picture of the words, "The struggle is real, but so is God."
"Rise," she captioned the inspirational quote on the micro-blogging site.

One day earlier, Iman attached the same caption to another image of a powerful quote. "Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory," the quote, posted on Saturday, Jan. 9, read.

The 69-year-old star's passing was sadly confirmed via his official Facebook page on Sunday, Jan 10. "David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer," the post read. "While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."

David and Iman — who tied the knot in 1992 — have a 15-year-old daughter, Alexandria Zahra Jones, together. David was also a father to son Duncan Jones, 44, from his previous marriage to Angela Bowie.
