Big Kenny and John Rich have been selling out arenas, writing hit songs and sometimes raising Cain together since 2004.
Now the country duo Big & Rich can hoist a glass of their favorite whiskey and toast their 10th anniversary, with the success of their new album, ‘Gravity,’ and a friendship that’s never been stronger.
“We are as blood as brothers can be,” Kenny, 51, tells ‘Closer.’ “We know each other better than any two people can, and we respect each other more than two people ever could.”

And nobody’s more surprised than they are. “Big Kenny and I never saw ourselves as an act together,” says John, 40, who was introduced to Kenny by a mutual friend; they quickly found they clicked as writing partners.
They sang three songs for a Warner Bros. record producer and were signed before they got to the fourth. “It’s a chemical reaction when we are together,” says John. “It’s two colors that aren’t supposed to go together, but yet here they are and they blend perfectly.”

They harmonize offstage, too. “His son and my son play on the same T-ball team,” says John, who has two boys – Cash 4, and Colt, 3 – with wife Joan.
“We go from filling up arenas one night to rooting on our 4-year-olds,” Kenny, who also has two sons – Lincoln, 8, and Dakota, 4 – with wife Christiev, travels in a separate tour bus than John.
