In the latest issue of Closer Weekly, LA Law star Corbin Bernsen remembers his late mother, The Young and the Restless star Jeanne Cooper, who inspired him to pursue his acting career.

Corbin tells Closer that even now he misses his mom. “I miss her wonderful, wrinkly hands with fake fingernails scratching my head and made me feel OK,” Corbin tells Closer.

Jeanne, who passed away three years ago, was a The Young and the Restless star for 40 years and Corbin tells Closer that she “worked herself to the bone all her life, to help feed the family.”

“She could settle my nerves and my anxieties with her humanity — it was the medicine when I had a problem,” Corbin tells Closer. “She used to love and give to a fault. I miss that spirit, especially in this world that is so ‘me, me, me’ and ‘take, take, take.'”
