Country star Randy Travis may have suffered a stroke last July, but a few of his close friends tell Closer Weekly he’s on the road to recovery!
“He hasn’t plateaued in his recovery, which is always a big fear,” a friend exclusively tells Closer. “He really faces a long, tough battle.”
Still, some claim Randy could perform in Nashville, Tenn. as soon as next January! “He’s pushed himself hard,” James Hilliard, co-owner of Clark’s Outpost Barbecue with Randy in Tioga, Tex. tells the mag, adding “he’s getting around normal and seems to be doing OK.”
Bonnie Paul, a friend who co-wrote the song “Childhood Sweethearts” with Randy, tells Closer, “he’s taking great strides and getting better,” and she has no doubts he'll make a comeback.
“He’s a cowboy!” she says, adding Randy is already humming and has his heart set on singing. “If he gets back his strength, then anything is possible.”
