Erik Estrada is a police officer both on and offscreen!
The 67-year-old former CHiPs star was sworn into office as a reserve police officer in a small town in southern Idaho on Saturday, July 2, according to The Associated Press.

Erik plans to work with the police department to protect children from internet predators, he revealed.

The actor is most known for portraying Officer Francis Llewelyn "Ponch" Poncherello on the police drama CHiPs from 1977 to 1983.
