Nearly 20 years after Sonny Bono's untimely death from a ski accident in 1998, Cher is opening up about life with her late ex-husband.
"When he died, everything changed. All of a sudden, he was gone, and it was a big loss. Our marriage was the least important thing that we did together," the music icon told Vegas Magazine in a new interview.
Cher and Sonny were married from 1964 until 1975 and were most known as power music duo Sonny & Cher. After their divorce in the mid-70s, Cher continued with her successful career as a solo artist while Sonny got into politics.

However, one of their duets "I Got You Babe" was and still remains one of the most iconic tunes of all time. Today, after only performing the song on the road once, Cher sings the duet along with a virtual big screen of Sonny during her Las Vegas residency.
She opened up about why she decided to bring it back after all these years. "Well, a couple of things. I figured this is probably going to be the last time, no matter what I’m thinking, and I was thinking that he would just love that," the 70-year-old revealed. "I didn’t think I could do it before. I didn’t think I’d actually get through it. And then when we were in rehearsal, just to see if I could get through it, I really enjoyed it." So sweet!
