Just days after President Donald Trump's inauguration, former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton is candidly opening up about Barron Trump's new role as First Son.
On Friday, Jan. 20, 10-year-old Barron was unfortunately poked fun at by many people online when he seemed bored during his dad's swearing in ceremony. In the hours following the inauguration, Chelsea, 36, took to Twitter to defend Barron's tough role in the spotlight.

“Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does — to be a kid,” she wrote on the micro-blogging site. "Standing up for every kid also means opposing @POTUS policies that hurt kids."

Chelsea — who is mom to two kids, daughter Charlotte, 2, and son Aidan, 7 months, with husband Marc Mezvinsky — herself was a First Daughter for eight years from 1993 until 2001 when her father, Bill Clinton, served as the 42nd President of the United States.

Throughout the 2016 Presidential Election, Chelsea's friendship with Donald's eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, 35, often made headlines because people wondered whether the two women would remain friendly as their parents battled to become the next POTUS.

“We were friends long before this election; we will be friends long after this election,” Chelsea — whose mother, Hillary Clinton, was Donald's opponent — said in a September 2016 interview. “Our friendship didn't start in politics and it certainly is not going to end because of politics. I have tremendous respect for Ivanka. I love her family. She’s a working mom like I am. We have so much more in common than we have disagreement about.”

But in a recent interview, Ivanka revealed she and Chelsea have unfortunately not spoken since Hillary's election loss. “She’s been a friend of mine long before the campaign, of course will be a friend of mine after,” she said. “I haven’t spoken about the specific challenges about this next chapter with her just yet, but I intend to.”

Donald Jr. is Donald's eldest child. He previously welcomed the 39-year-old with his first wife, Ivana Trump, on Dec. 31, 1977. Donald and Ivana were married from 1977 until 1992.
Don currently serves as an EVP of Donald's business, The Trump Organization, and will continue to do so once his dad is sworn into office.
He married his wife, Vanessa Trump, back in November 2005 and the couple are parents to five kids: Kai, 9, Donald III, 7, Tristan, 5, Spencer, 4, and Chloe, 2.
