Talking about one day marrying Sean Penn isn't nerve-racking for Charlize Theron — especially since the couple have been close friends for more than 20 years.
"The moment that we’re in is just really good. I love the possibility of anything, but I’m really enjoying myself and the everyday moment and how that coincides with my son and my life and my friends. I’m a very, very, very lucky girl. Very lucky. He’s hot. He is hot," the 39-year-old actress gushed in a new interview.

Despite being close friends for two decades, Charlize admitted she never thought she and Sean, 54, would end up as a couple.
"He was married, I was in a long-term relationship... but we were in each other’s lives," the 'Monster' star said of his former marriage to Robin Wright and her past relationship with Stuart Townsend.

Thankfully, the A-list pair's mutual passions for charity work ultimately brought them closer together.
"I think our friendship stemmed from mutual respect — more on my end, because I really didn’t have a body of work twenty years ago, but my love and passion for making films, that was our common ground," she said.

"I think that for both of us there was never a moment where we thought that this — what we have today — would ever even be a possibility," the mom-of-one added in the May issue of 'Esquire Magazine,' which hits newsstands April 21.
