Tucked away at her home in Las Vegas, Céline Dion has been busily throwing herself into the daily duties of being a mom.
That includes getting her three sons — René-Charles, 15, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 5 — ready to return to school and overseeing the usual juggling act of hockey practice, playdates and bedtime.
While it’s far from business as usual for the 47-year-old singer — who remains heartbroken after losing her husband of 21 years, René Angélil, at 73 on Jan. 14 after a long battle with throat cancer — Céline’s No. 1 priority right now is to give her grieving family a semblance of normalcy.

That’s easier said than done. “There are times when Céline says she just wants to curl up into a ball,” an insider tells Closer. “But that wasn’t what René would have wanted.”

After all, the fellow Canadian was not merely the love of her life, but her business manager as well. It’s why Céline intends to honor René the best way she knows how: by getting back to work and resuming her high-profile residency at Caesars Palace on Feb. 23. “Céline is tougher than many give her credit for,” says a friend. “She’s moving ahead.”
