Céline Dion to Resume Las Vegas Residency With Touching Tribute to Late Husband René Angélil

Just more than one month after René Angélil‘s tragic death, Céline Dion is bravely returning to the stage tonight to resume her Las Vegas residency.

“We are pleased to announce the return of Céline to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Join Céline and her fans in Las Vegas for a trip down memory lane, live at The Colosseum, to celebrate her return and witness Céline’s loving tribute to René,” a statement posted to the singer’s official website on the evening of Monday, Feb. 22 read.

René sadly died at age 73 on Thursday, Jan. 14 after a long battle with throat cancer. Céline, 47, and her late husband previously married in December 1994 and are parents to three sons: René-Charles, 15, and twins Nelson and Eddy, both 5.

“There are times when Céline says she just wants to curl up into a ball. But that wasn’t what René would have wanted,” an insider recently told Closer. “Céline is tougher than many give her credit for. She’s moving ahead.”

In addition to focusing on her work, Céline is dedicating her time to giving her grieving family some semblance of normalcy. “[She] talks to her sons about their dad and lets them express their feelings, but she’s trying her best to also keep it a happy household,” a friend close to Céline told Closer. “She says they can’t live in mourning with the curtains drawn. You have to let a little light in. Even a little laughter.”
