Céline Dion has been hard at work preparing for her highly anticipated return to her residency at the Colosseum inside Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on August 27, after taking a year off while her ailing husband René Angélil underwent aggressive throat cancer treatments in Massachusetts.
"René is fighting very hard, and he's a trouper. I'm amazed," she says. Now, with René's blessings, she's pulling out all the stops to insure that her faithful fans are wowed by her newly revamped Sin City spectacular.

"She wouldn't have even entertained the idea of returning, if it hadn't been for René urging her to do so. They agreed she needed to give the fans something new, so she has a new band and stage setup and also new choreography," a source close to the singer divulges to Closer.

"They agreed the show should be more intimate," notes an insider, adding that René has been "as involved as his health will allow." But even the 47-year-old Canadian-born crooner admits that, despite her brave face and steadfast focus on work, her heart, as always, will be with René, 73, on opening night. "When the curtain opens, I don't know how strong I will be that night," Céline says. "It's going to be hard and it's going to be emotional."
