After being moved nearly 8,000 miles since May, the body of Casey Kasem is headed to Oslo, Norway, a Norwegian newspaper, VG, a new report claims.
The news was confirmed by private investigator, Logan Clarke, who had been hired by Casey's daughter, Kerri Kasem. "He's going to be buried in Norway," Logan says.
Although the legendary DJ died exactly two months ago, he has yet to be buried, with wife Jean Kasem acting especially cagey in regards to his whereabouts. It has not been specified in which Oslo cemetery the "America's Top 40" host will be laid to rest.
A spokesman for Kerri, who, along with her two siblings, is estranged from Jean, reveals, "We don't know what [Jean Kasem's] plans are. We just know that she wants to keep Casey away from [his] family and friends and by the looks of it, hiding from law enforcement."
Jean is currently being investigated for elder abuse against Casey, though her quick removal of his body from the States is making matters difficult. Officials had hoped to perform an autopsy before it was removed.
But private investigator Clarke is confident they won't need to exhume the body to press charges. "We have so much evidence — video, photos, witnesses...If this is not elder abuse, there is no such thing. And if the police drop this case, I'll take it on the 6:00 news," he said.
Casey's only son, Mike Kasem, is furious his father will be buried in Europe. "There is no connection my dad has with Norway. I don't know if Jean has any ties to Oslo. She certainly has never mentioned it in the last 35 years," he recently shared.
"Check the exhumation laws there; sounds like a possibility that is the reason she will bury him there," he added. "My dad deserves to be buried where he specifically asked to be buried: Forest Lawn [in Glendale, Calif.]. Everyone keeps asking for motives as to why Jean acts how she acts. I don't have an answer."
Casey's three eldest children are from his first marriage to Linda Myers Kasem. He married second wife Jean in 1980, and the pair have one daughter together, Liberty.
