One month after his death, Casey Kasem's body still remains in a Tacoma, Wash. funeral home, prompting his children to question why he hasn't been laid to rest.
A publicist for Kerri Kasem revealed the radio personality's second wife, Jean, who has the rights to his body, has not arranged the burial. He also stated the father-of-four wished to be buried at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, Calif.
The 82-year-old died in Washington on June 15 after battling Lewy Body disease. Scott Thompson, a spokesman for St. Anthony Hospital, confirms Jean collected the "American Top 40" host's body after his death, but does not know where she took him after.
Despite constant battles between Casey's children and Jean during the last months of his life, Kerri, along with her older siblings, willingly handed over their father's body to the former actress, choosing instead to hold a private memorial service in his honor.
"To have all of his family, friends and coworkers come together to remember and pay tribute to him was beautiful," Casey's daughter Julie Kasem shared at the time. "It was a heartwarming celebration of my dad's life."
Jean, and her daughter with the radio legend, Liberty, were not in attendance.
