This past weekend, around 200 people gathered at the Bel Air Presbyterian Church for a private memorial honoring Casey Kasem, who passed away on June 15 after a battle with Lewy Body disease.
"To have all of his family, friends and coworkers come together to remember and pay tribute to him was beautiful," the radio personality's daughter Julie Kasem said in a new interview. "It was a heartwarming celebration of my dad's life."
The service included speeches by the deejay's three adult children from his first marriage, as well as remarks from his brother and several close friends.
Casey Kasem's Daughters Willingly Hand Over His Body to Stepmother Jean
Casey's second wife, Jean Kasem, and her daughter with the 82-year-old, Liberty, were not in attendance, a family spokesman told TheWrap.
Despite the estranged family coming to an agreement over the voice-actor's body, their court troubles may be far from over.
Engaged in an eight-month feud before Casey's death over his healthcare, Julie and her sister Kerri are weighing legal options against their stepmother, who secretly moved her husband from a care facility last month without a doctor's permission.
Julie spoke exclusively to People magazine.
