Say it ain’t so! Carrie Ann Inaba and her fiancé Robb Derringer have sadly called off their nine-month engagement, a source revealed to People on Wednesday, Sept. 13. Though the couple has yet to officially confirm the news, speculation of a Carrie Ann and Robb split has been swirling for several days.

On Thursday, Sept. 7, the 49-year-old Dancing With the Stars judge posted a cryptic message on Instagram. “Just when I think I’ve learned the way to live, life changes,” a quote posted to her account read. A few days later, the TV star was spotted in Hawaii sans her engagement ring and without Robb by her side.

Carrie Ann and Robb, 50, previously announced their engagement in December 2016. The actor popped the question at the site of their first date, a secluded beach along the California coast. “I got down on one knee under what I will always remember as the most serene and tranquil night sky I’ve ever seen and asked my beautiful girl if she would do me the honor of being my wife, to which she thankfully replied yes,” Robb said at the time.

In January, Carrie Ann gushed about Robb and their wedding plans in an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly. “I’m so happy. We’re both so happy right now. Everything feels possible with Robb in my life. We talk about it all the time, because we’re older… This is the time of your life when you really start to appreciate everything that you have. And we definitely feel that we have everything we need in this life. So anything that could come our way is absolutely possible to get through because we have each other and that’s such a really wonderful feeling.”

At the time, the TV star admitted she and Robb hadn’t thought too much about their future nuptials. “We have an idea of what we want to do! [Being engaged] is just a beautiful time to just enjoy each other and that’s what we’re doing,” she said. Carrie Ann’s marriage to Robb would have been her first, though she was previously engaged to Jesse Sloan from 2011 until 2012.
