Former child star Candace Cameron Bure’s passion for faith and sometimes controversial opinions have made her a strong candidate for shows like The View.
Now, in an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, the 39-year-old mother of three — who is set to star in Netflix’s 2016 Full House reboot, Fuller House — opens up about balancing family and work and why speaking her mind is finally paying off!

But Candace shares that her strong views were not always received as well as they are today. “Five or six years ago, it was a lot harder. I’d get turned down from [jobs] just because I was outspoken about my faith, but now it’s what makes me stand apart, and it’s been a wonderful thing.”

Still, it isn’t always easy, “There’s such a cultural war going on, and when you get negativity on social media, it’s really strong,” Candace explains to Closer. “You have to have thick skin. But at the end of the day, everyone chooses what they stand for, and I’m not afraid to say it.”
“I’ve been working my tail off to get to the places that I’m at now, and everything is really going the way I’ve hoped,” she says. “I’m so looking forward to the next three years and what I’ve got on the books.”
