Nearly a week after Ukrainian journalist Vitalii Sediuk was arrested after lunging at Brad Pitt during the LA premiere of Maleficent, the Oscar nominee is speaking out about the frightening experience and describing what really happened that night.
"I was at the end of the line signing autographs, when out the corner of my eye I saw someone stage-diving over the barrier at me," the World War Z star explains.
"I took a step back; this guy had latched onto my lapels. I looked down and the nutter was trying to bury his face in my crotch, so I cracked him twice in the back of the head — not too hard — but enough to get his attention, because he did let go," Brad describes.
"I think he was then just grabbing for a hand hold because the guys were on him, and he reached up and caught my glasses."
The incident occurred while the actor was greeting fans along an outside barrier. But being a red carpet pro, the producer didn't let the attack faze him, making his way down the line as though nothing had happened.
"I don't mind an exhibitionist," Brad admits, but quickly counters, "if this guy keeps it up he's going to spoil it for the fans who have waited up all night for an autograph or a selfie, because it will make people more wary to approach a crowd."
And the dad-of-six is well-versed in Vitalii's former shenanigans, referencing last month's Cannes fiasco in which the prankster crawled under actress America Ferrera's dress.
"He should know, if he tries to look up a woman's dress again, he's going to get stomped," Brad tells People magazine.
Though Vitalii received a restraining order preventing him from attending Hollywood events, the mischief-maker maintains he never punched or tried to hurt the 50-year-old, telling The Associated Press he was only trying to "hug" the actor.
"I'm a normal guy," he said. "I'm not crazy."
