In a candid new interview, the 53-year-old actor opened up about his divorce from Angelina Jolie — and admitted his Hollywood career has negatively affected his relationships with his six kids.

"I say that as someone who's let the work take me away. Kids are so delicate. They absorb everything. They need to have their hand held and things explained. They need to be listened to. When I get in that busy work mode, I'm not hearing. I want to be better at that," Brad recently told GQ Style.

Brad added that he sometimes feels "emotionally retarded" and hasn't "been great" at always expressing his feelings to his family in the best way.

"It's hit me smack in the face with our divorce: I gotta be more. I gotta be more for [my children]. I have to show them," he continued.

The former Thelma & Louise star and Angelina, 41, tied the knot in August 2014 after dating for nearly 10 years. The couple sadly announced their divorce in September 2016.

The A-listers are parents to three adopted and three biological kids: Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, both 8.
