Bobbi Kristina Brown's cause of death has finally been revealed, on what would have been her 23rd birthday.
Eight months after Whitney Houston's daughter's tragic passing, the Fulton County Medical Examiner has released a statement concluding Bobbi Kristina died from Lobar pneumonia caused by Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy and water immersion combined with mixed drug intoxication. Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy is one of the most common types of brain damage caused by oxygen loss.

Bobbi Kristina sadly died at age 22 last July after being found unconscious in a bathtub inside her Roswell, Ga. home in January 2015. Following the incident, the young woman was placed in a medically-induced coma for six months before her passing.

According to the medical examiner's statement, the underlying cause of Bobbi Kristina's death was her immersion in water mixed with drugs in her system. The Lobar pneumonia and brain damage were the immediate resulting causes of her death, triggered by drowning and the drugs in her body.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner additionally stated he could not determine if Bobbi Kristina's death was accidental. The manner of her passing has subsequently been classified in official documents as "undetermined."

Three years prior to Bobbi Kristina's death, her mother, Whitney, died in February 2012 at age 48 from an "accidental drowning" after being found unconscious and submerged in a hotel bathtub.
