Bindi Irwin Announces Late Dad Steve Irwin Will Receive a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — “This Means the World!”

Bindi Irwin took to Instagram on Thursday, June 22 to happily announce her late father, “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, will soon be getting a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“I am beyond excited to share with you all that we have just received the news that dad will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” the 18-year-old sweetly captioned a throwback photo of herself with Steve.

“Dad changed the world by reaching out to people through their television screens to bring them on the adventure of a lifetime,” Bindi continued. “To have his name on a Hollywood Star means the world as we carry on his important work.”

Fans of both Bindi and Steve were quick to share their excitement over the news by commenting on the Dancing With the Stars winner‘s post. “Your daddy was a wonderful soul and his legacy will forever live on through you and your family’s efforts… blessings as you continue following your passions,” one person wrote.

“He truly deserves it, too. His heart and work were earnest and impactful, and his passion left forever-endearing marks on our minds,” another fan commented.

Bindi was just eight-years-old when her dad, Steve, was tragically killed at age 44 in September 2006 after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb. “You’ll be my hero for my entire existence. I love you more than words can describe,” Bindi recently wrote via Instagram on the 10-year anniversary of the TV star’s death.
