The music icon performed “Believe” at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 21 — and as always, had the audience on their feet! The star was also honored with the Icon Award — presented to her by Gwen Stefani — during tonight’s show, a tribute Celine Dion received last year.

Cher, 71, owned the stage in a scandalous silver ensemble that vividly showed off her cleavage as well as a white-haired wig as she sang her heart out to the nearly 20-year-old song. This marks the singer’s first award show performance in over 15 years!

“I’ve wanted to do what I wanted to do since I was four years old and I’ve been doing it for 53 years,” Cher said upon receiving her award. “I want to thank my mom, because when I was really young, my mom said you’re not going to be the smartest, you’re not going to be the prettiest, you’re not going to be the most talented, but you’re going to be special. And then when I met Sonny [Bono], he said the same thing.”

Turns out, unlike the rest of the world, Cher isn’t even a fan of herself. “I’m not a Cher fan. I just don’t think my aesthetic taste lies in her direction,” she admitted. “‘Icon’ is a stupid word. Things just didn’t come easily to me. I made lots of mistakes.” Well we think you’re awesome, Cher!
