11 Years LaterEveryone Loves a Good Witch! See the Cast of ‘Bewitched’ Then and Now

We can’t believe it’s been more than 10 years since the theatrical movie Bewitched premiered. The film starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell focused on failing actor Jack Wyatt (Will), who has to find the perfect leading lady for the remake of his movie Bewitched. But as he searches high and low, Jack comes across Isabel Bigelow (Nicole) who is actually a witch in real life and he ends up giving her the part.

“I’m drawn to dark material, if that’s what you want to call it, where things twist and turn and people behave strangely. I love that,” Nicole previously told Vanity Fair about why she accepted the role for the metafictional film. “But Bewitched is also very much a side of me. I like sugar, and I needed something that was yum. If you think in terms of food, I wanted it to be like a candy cane.”

Although the film didn’t make as much money as planned, Nicole and Will still had a great time playing lovers on screen. “The first time we met, Nicole just started laughing,” Will sweetly recalled to VF. “She mentioned how she’d seen Old School, and I said, ‘Oh, you’re thinking about me running naked, aren’t you?’”

Their chemistry was undeniable and they both shared a love for the classic TV show Bewitched. One thing Nicole loved about the program was that it was so relatable. Like most fans, she and Will daydreamed about what it would be like to have magical superpowers.

“If you’re pissed off, it’s kind of nice to be able to walk through walls, blow up the cappuccino machine, make a dog jump into your arms and make him speak in tongues,” she gushed in a previous interview. “I obviously think the concept is that everyone wishes they could do a little magic and I think the overall idea of the film is that to fall in love requires some of that.”
