For Melissa McCarthy's husband, Ben Falcone, it was not love at first sight when he first spotted the actress during her college days.
Though they did not officially meet until many years later, Melissa attended school in Ben's hometown of Carbondale, Ill. and was somewhat of a local celebrity because of the kooky way she dressed!
"She was this goth person," the 40-year-old remembers of his wife. "She had blue hair and she was really scary...in a good way! Scary and pretty!"
But the Tammy director didn't look much better back then! "I had long bangs and a couple of earrings and a Clockwork Orange shirt and Tevas. I had a whole situation…I was light-alt," he recently explained on Chelsea Lately.
"The girls that I knew were also light-alt, and they would look at Melissa — we didn't know it was Melissa — but they would go, 'Man, I wish my mom would let me dress like that.'"
The pair once again crossed paths when they both attended The Groundlings comedy school in Los Angeles and have now been married for nearly nine years.

Melissa has confirmed her hubby's account of the way she dressed, telling Redbook magazine in June, “I wore white kabuki makeup, had blue-black hair. At one point I shaved an inch and a half around my hairline and continued the white makeup up so it made my head look slightly deformed.”
But the comedienne got a kick out of her unique style. “I thought it was hilarious...I was never sullen. I was a terrible punk," she joked.
