Ashley Judd tweeted her thanks to fans following estranged husband Dario Franchitti’s terrifying racecar accident on Sunday.
The 45-year-old actress rushed to the IndyCar driver’s side after he crashed at the Grand Prix of Houston, resulting in a concussion, broken right ankle, and fractured vertebrae for the former Indy 500 champ. Though the couple separated in January, the two appear to remain amicable, with neither side filing divorce papers.
Judd retweeted a message from Franchitti who also thanked his fans for their continued support.
About a dozen spectators as well as an IndyCar Series official were injured from debris that flew through the air following the crash. IndyCar has said that they are investigating the incident.
"Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by yesterday's accident," the organization said in a statement to US Weekly. "Thank you to the people of Houston for their support of the Grand Prix and their concern for Dario Franchitti, the fans, and race personnel."
