Ann Curry is leaving NBC more than two-and-a-half years after her headlining Today Show departure, a new report claims.
'Page Six' reports the network is expected to announce a deal with the longtime journalist, said to be worth up to $12 million, following weeks of negotiations to end her contract.

A source says the 58-year-old is actually relieved to get out. “Ann has been unhappy for a long time because she’s basically doing nothing, while NBC is unhappy that she has been paid a lot of money to do nothing," an NBC insider reveals.
After taking over for Meredith Vieira on the 'Today Show' in 2011, Ann lasted only a year before she was ousted by the network. Though never confirmed, it was speculated that Matt Lauer was behind the firing because he didn't gel with his new co-host.
Following the backlash NBC received over their handling of her exit, the company decided to make the seasoned reporter an NBC News national and international correspondent as well as a 'Today' anchor-at-large.

And now the timing of her departure, according to insiders, couldn't be more perfect. Ann is expected to announce plans for her own production company that will provide news reports and documentaries to various outlets.
'Page Six' was the first to report the news.
