When television personality Andy Cohen was invited to appear as a co-host on The View earlier this year, he accidentally insulted legendary TV journalist Barbara Walters — and it seems she was not too happy about the jab!
On Monday's episode of 'The Meredith Vieira Show,' the star sat down with Meredith Vieira to explain exactly what happened in the unfortunate incident and recounted Barbara's off-air reaction to his faux pas.
"It was the day after the Golden Globes and she was saying she didn't understand 'American Hustle' and I said on live TV, 'Perhaps it's a generational thing,'" Andy, 46, began the story. "I said it because a few days before, my mom had said she and her friends didn't understand it, so I thought, okay, maybe it's a generational thing."

But soon after he uttered the words, Andy says he realized he had made a mistake.
"She wasn't happy and I really felt terribly because she is a legend who I love. I admire and adore her. I sent her flowers the next day, I apologized eight million times. She e-mailed and said all is forgiven," he added.

Meredith, who worked as a co-host on 'The View' alongside Barbara, 85, for nine years, reassured the 'Bravo' network executive that the journalist has surely forgiven him for the comment. "If she said that, she means it," she told him.
It seems all is now fine between the two stars — but be sure to watch your words next time, Andy!
