In a second revealing excerpt from her upcoming memoir, "Yes Please," Amy Poehler details her former drug use, including an initial fondness for cocaine.
"I tried cocaine, which I instantly loved but eventually hated," she writes. "Cocaine is terrific if you want to hang out with people you don't know very well and play ping-pong all night. It's bad for almost everything else...The day after cocaine is rough."
Her experimentation with ecstasy wasn't any better. "I remember a wonderful New Year's Eve party where we all danced and drank water and loved each other," the 43-year-old recalls. "I also remember the next day when I thought I had no friends and I was so sad I wanted to sink into the carpet and permanently live there."
As for her marijuana usage, the "Parks and Recreation" star says she's cut back significantly since welcoming sons Abel, 6, and Archie, 5.
"How do you explain to [your kids] that you can't play Rescue Bots because you have to spend all day in bed eating Cape Cod potato chips and watching 'The Bicycle Thief?'" she writes, adding that it also doesn't help her creativity. "I can't perform, drive or write stoned, and therefore I smoke pot a lot less than I used to."
Although her book isn't available until Oct. 28, the comedienne also released an excerpt about her painful divorce earlier this week.

"Imagine spreading everything you care about on a blanket and then tossing the whole thing up in the air," the SNL alum says about her 2012 split from husband Will Arnett.
"The process of divorce is about loading up that blanket, throwing it up, watching it all spin, and worrying what stuff will break when it lands."
