They said “I do” —again!
Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria renewed their wedding vows on Friday, June 30 — asdf which is also the date of their fifth wedding anniversary. Hilaria gushed over her relationship with her actor hubby and she reflected on how far they’ve come since tying knot five years ago.
“So much has happened in five years, we met each other under a year-and-a-half before we got married,” Hilaria revealed to Extra. “Our relationship went fast, and our life has changed so much.”
She said that Alec was the one who came up with the idea of renewing their vows every five years because he’s a romantic, and she agreed to recommit themselves to each other in order to remind themselves of the vows they took for one another.
“Marriage is something I feel that you’re constantly working on,” the 33-year-old said. “And it’s a wonderful thing to celebrate — which is what we’re doing.
But Alec almost ruined the romantic celebration! He made his wife very angry when he accidentally spilled the beans on their upcoming anniversary plans during a recent interview with E! News!
"We're getting remarried on Friday if we make it to Friday," the 59-year-old actor revealed at the Blind premiere on Monday, June 26. A frustrated Hilaria quickly grabbed the microphone out of his hands and added, "now there's going to be people at our doorstep. If there's paparazzi now, it's his fault. This was the moment."
Alec, realizing what he did was wrong, quickly joked. "Did I say remarrying? I meant remodeling." Hilaria joked back, "we're painting it all black."
Alec and Hilaria married in 2012 and are parents to three children together, Carmen, 3, Rafael, 2, and Leonardo, 9 months. The SNL star is additionally a dad to a 21-year-old daughter, Ireland, from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger.
The duo always seem more in love than ever on social media, so many fans are likely curious why they're choosing to get remarried. Alex told the Associated Press, "I need reassurance. I need to know I still got you there. I need to know you're not going anywhere."'
Hilaria thinks that many people think that once they get married "they're done." "But it's really good to say 'hey I'm still in this,'" the yoga instructor said.
The pair planned on looking at it as more of a celebration with friends, food, and cake, and just "five minutes" of wedding stuff.
