Hollywood star Alec Baldwin might be coming back to the small screen. But this time, the former 30 Rock star will leave his acting chops behind to host a talk-show. According to Page Six, the 59-year-old actor is in talks to transform his WNYC radio show and podcast — Here’s the Thing With Alec Baldwin — into a talk show for ABC.

“We’re told that the production is part of the deal Baldwin signed to continue hosting the ABC game show Match Game,” Page Six reported. And their source added that the former star will begin to tape episodes in NYC as early as next week. On Here’s the Thing, he interviews a variety of guests including politicians, athletes, and movie stars.

It’s not surprising that ABC is interested in tapping him for a talk show. He is fresh off an Emmy win for his portrayal of Donald Trump on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. Viewers and critics alike are a fan of his right now — so why not boost his popularity even more? Plus, ABC is no stranger to talk shows. The network is currently home to late-night favorite Jimmy Kimmel Live, and its daytime lineup includes The View and The Chew, with Good Morning America airing during the mornings.

When he’s not working, Alec is focused on being a family man. He tied the knot with wife Hilaria Baldwin, 33, on June 30, 2012. They have since welcomed three children: daughter Carmen, 4, and sons Rafael, 2, and Leo, 1. The couple announced they are expecting their fourth child (another boy!) in November. Alec is also the father to Ireland Baldwin, 22, from his marriage to actress Kim Basinger. We look forward to seeing if this talk-show makes it to the air. And if it does — we wonder who his first guest will be!
