It is unclear at this time whether the thieves took more than jewelry from Alanis. The "Hand in My Pocket" songstress was reportedly not home at the time of the robbery.

Law enforcement officials later told TMZ they believed Alanis' social media posts of herself flaunting her expensive jewels may have made her a target for burglars. She also may have tipped off the thieves by revealing she was out of town by sharing real-time vacation photos with her more than 240,000 Instagram followers.

In late November, Alanis — who has two kids, son Ever, 6, and daughter Onyx, 7 months, with husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway — posted a photo of her hand adorned with nearly 20 stunning rings on Instagram.

"The subtle meets wild creations and talismans I have been moved by and quietly collecting for years. Felt inspired to share some of them with you. #Rings," the music icon captioned the photo. Following the news of Alanis' robbery, one of her followers commented, "I hope they didn't steal all these treasures😢," on the pic.

After the robbery was reported, Alanis returned to Instagram to post two vacation shots. "Sometimes, in sweet artistic forms, it is nice to know you are surrounded by so much goodness," she captioned a picture of her family's footprints in the sand.

"Happy Valentine's Day 💕❤🔥 #LoveOfMyLife," the mom-of-two captioned another snapshot of herself kissing her handsome hubby on the beach.

Back in June 2014, a stranger similarly broke into Sandra Bullock's California home — but unlike Alanis' situation, the actress was home at the time. At the time, TMZ revealed a man entered Sandra's house around 6:30 a.m. and the mom-of-two was not hurt during the incident. It was unclear if the man planned to burglarize the star or if it was a stalking incident. So scary!
